SUBSTANCE MISUSE
Drug or Alcohol Treatment Requirements are two of the twelve requirements of a Community Order. They are imposed upon offenders whose offending is linked to their substance misuse, and are designed to combine supervision and treatment together with regular court reviews to monitor their progress. This element of accountability (often to the original Sentencer) has shown to be beneficial in reducing the risk of further offending.
Community Psychiatric Nurses play an important role in the Drug and Alcohol teams.
